Sensory Cottage

Our Sensory Cottage is a dedicated therapeutic space designed to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, communication, sensory needs, and readiness to learn. It provides a calm, nurturing environment where children can access targeted interventions tailored to their individual needs.

The Sensory Cottage is home to four specialist areas:

Sensory Room
A calming and engaging environment that helps pupils regulate their emotions, reduce anxiety, and develop self-regulation skills through carefully planned sensory experiences.
LEGO® Therapy Room
A structured space where children develop communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and social interaction skills through collaborative LEGO®-based activities.
w
Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) Intervention Room
A quiet space where pupils receive targeted support to develop speech, language, communication, and listening skills, helping them to access learning and build confidence.
Sensory Circuit Room
A dedicated area where children participate in movement-based activities that help them become alert, organised, and calm, preparing both body and mind for successful learning.

The Sensory Cottage reflects our commitment to providing an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. By offering personalised support and therapeutic interventions, we help pupils develop the confidence, independence, and emotional resilience they need to achieve their full potential both in school and beyond.

We are proud to provide this specialist provision as part of our whole-school approach to supporting the wellbeing and success of every child.
