Most pupils leaving after a term can: 

• Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 10 metres.

• Use a range of strokes effectively.

Year 6 cohort:

Last year two of our Y6 pupils could and two were working towards being able to:

• Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres.

• Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

In addition, all pupils demonstrated how to act sensibly around the water, and what you can do if ever in a difficult situation as a swimmer and bystander.

This wasn’t necessarily self-rescue but water awareness.
