Meet our Teaching Assistants

Alex Norbury
HLTA
More Info
I’m Alex and I am a HLTA in Lavender class, I work alongside Callum and Libbie.
My role allows me to work with children individually during interventions as well as in groups and as a whole class. I have worked at Chaigeley for 18 months and stayed within the lower school area. This gives me a great opportunity to watch the start of the pupils’ Chaigeley journey and watch them and develop into young adults.
I love how each day is varied, I offer the children speech and language interventions, Maths and English interventions and life skills lessons. My favourite part of working at Chaigeley is creating amazing bonds with pupils and seeing how the staff and pupil rapport is outstanding across the school.

More Info
Hello, my name is Charlotte and I’m a TA at Chaigeley School. I joined Chaigeley School permanently in June 2024 after working through an agency from March. I knew right away that Chaigeley was a great fit for me, as I could see that each staff member truly respected each child’s differences and valued their educational progression as well as their social development. I mostly enjoy seeing each child progress daily, both with their learning, and their social and emotional state. Whether this is developing effective coping strategies during difficulties they might have, or simply interacting with peers and staff in positive and proactive ways; all are valued milestones for our young people.

I have worked at Chaigeley School for a number of years, where I have worked with many pupils and different class groups. In addition to the classroom, my work has involved activities outside of the school, such as paintballing, swimming and orienteering, in a range of outdoor environments.
I have also worked in a care capacity within the school after school hours. By working in both education and care settings, I have been able to enhance my knowledge of pupils further and to continue to build positive working relations.
I have a great interest in sport, particularly football where I am qualified as a football coach, and I like to participate in gym exercise regularly to form a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy reading and I am particularly interested in sporting autobiographies and science fiction, and I am also highly skilled in art and design, which I have previously studied in higher education.
