More Info

Hi I’m Paul, I am the Principal at Chaigeley and have been since September 2021, I have worked in SEND schools for the last 15 years and I originally started as a PE teacher in Widnes back in 2001.

I have always enjoyed the extra challenge of working with SEN pupils and watching the amazing impact you can have on a young person’s life, when you believe in them and what they want to achieve.

I also enjoy watching staff developing amazing relationships that allow a child to be themselves and develop in confidence over time.

I have always enjoyed coaching and helping others develop into strong independent learners or leaders

I enjoy mountaineering, fishing, cycling and swimming. The outdoors makes me feel alive and I encourage all pupils at Chaigeley to learn and develop in the wild, as it can change lives in incredible ways and open the mind to all types of adventures.

More Info

I am Rachel, the Deputy Principal at Chaigeley. I have worked here since September 2023. I started my teaching life as a mainstream secondary science and psychology teacher, teaching GCSE’s and A- levels and moved into specialist teaching around 20 years ago. My last job was Head of the Alternative Provision Service in St Helens.

I really enjoy working with SEND pupils and staff – the relationships between us are so important, highly valued and help us all to learn. I love the challenge of thinking about how to make things better for individuals and supporting them as whole people – not just academically, but getting ready for a happy and fulfilling life.

It is a privilege to work at Chaigeley, with such a committed group of staff with a wide variety of talents. We have the  opportunity to provide lots of different and new experiences for pupils – there might just be something they become passionate about that can enrich their lives. I was given the chance to learn to play the violin at primary school. Music has brought me so many friends and good experiences – I am still a keen amateur musician and play with the Liverpool Mozart Orchestra in my spare time.

I aim to make our pupils’ time at Chaigeley safe, enjoyable and full of opportunities for success. I believe we all develop at our own pace, success is reflective of the effort we put in not the level we achieve, and we should never stop learning.

I enjoy working at Chaigeley as each day is a fresh start offering new challenges and opportunities for growth. In my free time I enjoy live music, running, hiking and paddle boarding.

More Info

Hi I am the Key Stage 3 lead and the form tutor for Birch at Chaigeley School and I have worked here for the last 4 years. I have worked in different SEN settings as a TA, HLTA and Teacher over the last 14 years and I absolutely love working with students with additional needs. I enjoy teaching History and English and going on trips.

The thing I enjoy the most about working at Chaigeley is helping our students to develop the skills they will need for their future and seeing them succeed. Every day is different and presents something new and I enjoy the challenge of working with students who need that extra support.

I enjoy watching lots of sports but my main interests are football, rugby and American football. When I’m not watching sports, I try to go out for walks all over the North West .

More Info

I work at Chaigeley School in the Lower School, where I help shape the curriculum and support teaching across the team. I care deeply about teaching that makes a real difference for pupils with SEMH needs, helping them feel safe, confident and ready to learn. I’m musical, love books and reading and firmly believe that creativity belongs at the heart of learning. I also have an ongoing (and probably unhealthy) obsession with fizzy cola bottles.

Art and Cooking lead

More Info

Hi I’m Amy Fitzpatrick, I teach Art and Food Technology and I absolutely love it. I’m so lucky to teach two subjects I am really passionate about.

My favourite thing about working at Chaigeley is seeing the amazing artwork and delicious dishes our students create and how much they care about the work they produce. Whether it’s a skillfully sculpted clay Sonic or a beautifully painted sunset, a tasty chicken curry shared with others or a yummy cheesecake baked for a special occasion.

Our student’s creativity, determination and talent inspire me every day.

More Info

Hi, I’m Anna Browne and I’m currently completing my teacher training year at Chaigeley. I started at Chaigeley as a teaching assistant in September 2022, and quickly took over a class as an unqualified teacher.

Being a teacher at Chaigeley is both challenging and rewarding. Witnessing the growth and progress of the children, not only academically but also in their emotional well-being, is incredibly fulfilling. I am grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in their lives, helping them develop the skills and resilience necessary to overcome obstacles and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

More Info

Hello my name is Gary Constantine. Twenty-odd years after qualifying, I find myself at Chaigeley School. Some might say it’s the only place that would have me! They might be right. I currently deliver subjects under the ‘Work Related Learning’ banner such as plumbing, vehicle maintenance and woodwork, subjects I feel very passionate about.

I have very much enjoyed my first year at Chaigeley and have been amazed by the wealth of talent I have seen. I am very much looking forward to my future here and hope that the skills and experiences I bring to the table can add to the variety of offers that are already available.

I am the HLTA in Lilac class. I am responsible for completing one to one speech and language sessions plus maths and English interventions to ensure pupil progress.

I am currently teaching a fun course of life skills sessions to lilac class to help them understand the world around them and become a well rounded young citizen. This has been a very engaging subject where children have done many activities from putting out pretend fires to going to cafes in the local area and practising money exchange and social interaction.

I have worked at Chaigeley for 7 months and previous to this worked in a children’s home for complex medical health as a child key worker and support worker. I have a 1st class degree in music and PGCE in primary education and often like to use this experience to get Lilac up singing and dancing.  An example being for lilac’s recent win for “artistic interpretation” on world book day with a fun and entertaining class performance to our SLT from Matilda the musical!

More Info

Hello, I am the PE subject coordinator and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Manager here at Chaigeley.

I somewhat stumbled upon the place when I was posted here by a supply agency. That was 7 years ago, it’s amazing how attached you feel to this place and its staff and students. It’s a fabulous place to work and I am proud to be part of the Chaigeley family.

I have a passion for sport and the outdoors and take every chance to give our students experiences that they wouldn’t always get the opportunity to do. Everyday is different here at Chaigeley and I love the way each and every individual is valued and nurtured to reach their true potential.
