Therapy Lead

More Info

My name is Robyn Shevlin and I am a Play Therapist and the school’s Therapy Lead.

As a healthcare professional I am dedicated to helping students improve in their overall wellbeing and ability to learn by alleviating their emotional, behavioural and mental health problems through tailored, child-centred interventions.  My experience and passion specialising in neurodiversity has led me to work here at Chaigeley School which feels a privilege to be able to practise in such a unique, caring and specialist setting.

Outside of school, I like to keep active and I enjoy being creative. I play netball and I like to run. When the weather is nice you will most likely find me outdoors, getting muddy and putting in the miles with my springer spaniel or up a hill somewhere in Snowdonia or The Lake District. I also enjoy art and music which is what led me into my chosen career.

Therapeutic Counsellor

More Info

I am the school counsellor and family support worker. I have worked at Chaigeley for 14 years. My journey began as a Teaching Assistant, then as a mentor with the pastoral team in pupil support. My path then changed enrolling on a course working creatively and therapeutically with children and adolescents where I realised this was an area that I felt very passionate about. A job role for therapeutic Support worker became available. I jumped at the chance and was successful at my interview. I then trained to become a qualified therapeutic counsellor working with children, adolescents and adults and was offered the role of school counsellor which I love and I am very passionate about. I more recently have trained in a family support worker role and I now also work with parents and carers offering them emotional support, this is a very rewarding role being able to help families and provide a space where they can be heard.

Speech and Language Practitioner

More Info

Hi Im Kathryn,

I’m in my second year here at Chaigeley School, working as a speech and language practitioner within the Juniper therapy department. I started here as a teaching assistant, and while I enjoyed my role in the classroom, I found that I enjoyed working with students outside the classroom even more. This led me to pursue training that would allow me to do this more often. When the opportunity for my current role came up, I eagerly took it. Now, I provide one-to-one and group Speech and language sessions outside of the classroom. I absolutely love my job here at Chaigeley.
