End of Term - Principal comments.
Friday 26th May 2023.
I can’t believe it is June already and we only have one half-term left. The exams are well upon us so well done to our year 6 pupils and our year 11 pupils who have completed their SAT’s and GCSE’s. We have also had functional skills exams and vocational qualifications completed by some of our year 11 pupils.
This half term has been a busy and somewhat disruptive half term with 2 Bank holidays and a burst water main causing the school to close for 6 days. We went back to online learning and this brought back the memories of early covid!! Can I thank again all the staff parents and carers for their patience and understanding during this disruptive period. The pupils responded really well and have settled back into routines really well.
We have received our ADHD friendly school award which resulted in a really positive write up in the Warrington guardian.
We have also welcomed a number of new pupils to our Chaigeley family, they have settled in well and have been welcomed by everyone, this means we now have 47 pupils on roll and our celebration assemblies are getting longer and longer which is
great to see. We have had 6 pupils start on the team sport fast forward vocational training program which seems to be a huge success. They will receive a level 1 & 2 nationally recognised mechanics certificate for their hard work over KS3 and 4. Our Year 9’s have been focusing on their futures by completing careers interviews and selecting their options choices for year 10; they have shown great maturity and aspiration throughout this process.
Finally, I would like to thank our new music teachers who have really made a difference to several pupils who have found their inner confidence through music which is great to see.
